Maybe it's when I use Quick Reply and type in something long.

I don't think NoScript can selectively block specific scripts.... can it?

We were trying to identify which script was causing Prag's machine to go into a tailspin. AdBlock Plus can do that, and we suspect it's that ticker.js script.

Yeah, the JScript in that script is pretty horrendous...

Yeah it's slowing down my compuer somethign firerce... The ticker won't even catch up with my typing, it's pretty annoying. Besides i Liike the other one better, You don't have to wait for some of the links to come by. Even my music becomes choppy when i come here now.

Edit: disabling JScript goes a long way in running this website on my compie.

I got a nasty surprise with JS disabled, though. You know that nice, intuitive navigation in Google Maps? Gone. Try it. When you first go to maps.google.com it shows you nothing but the search bar. Enter your postal code and it gives you a map view, but you cannot grab and drag or double-click to center and zoom.

Yeah and facebook doesn't work at all, and nor does my hotmail. I guess I'll just have to disable it each time i come here.

Does HotMail not give you access to the IMAP or POP server directly? I know you can get it with GMail, and I've got it with my AIM.com account. All I have to do is configure another account in either T-Bird or even Outlook.

OK boys I've de-activated the scrolling bar for now until I can figure out what the problem is.

I think the problem is the inefficient script. I wonder if it "floats" the images or actually erases them and re-draws at a different location?

And since I'm not a web programmer I wonder if what I said even makes sense?

I would suggest trying to re-size the images that are being used to fit the scroll bar area properly. It seems some of them are larger and are being resized on the fly. This may be causing issues.

Create a set of images that are sized just for the ticker and see if that helps.

Yeah!!!

Scroll bar is now part of the portal page. So when you log go to GMHockey.com you are brought to the portal and then you can click the main banner or HOME and you go to the forum.

Another note. The top 10 all time posters list is on the portal page now on the left hand side.
