Detroit is worried about teams crashing the net and running the goalie??? i find that pricelessly ironic considering how they like to play

babc0ck was cool with it... but then again even back to his Anaheim days he's rarely been the type to Wing Dang Doodle and moan... He'll ask for the explanation, but once he gets he doesn't chirp all day and all night.

On the other hand you could see Ozzie and a few other Red Wings players with hands in the air when I didn't catch which Duck went into him.

Frankly, if that Franzen goal in game 1 was allowed to stand, it says to me pretty much anything goes in that blue paint.

Player will always want the refs to call everything to get the advantage but i do see what you are saying they might want to call some before things get out of hand and i think it was perry that last time it is what he does a lot

Of course players always want the call, no arguments there. But they should be careful what they wish for when crashing the net is a big part of their production. If the refs take it away one way, they 'should' be doing it both ways. But, like babc0ck said, its fine, it is playoff hockey after all. But it really is getting out of hand. And you hope it doesn't take an injury before they decide to maybe call something. But, you have to like the trade-off if your Anaheim when its Giguere vs Conklin as backup.

And then you compare all that to the softie slash they call on Getzlaf? Although the inconsistencies of the reffing are a whole other debate.

i think its partially the way the ducks play they play on the edge and they take a lot of penalties it makes the refs look at the a little harder than maybe they would look at other teams which may lead to bad calls like the slash made against them

It'd be nice if they could take some of the softies out, but all in all it was a good period, and I should try to get better at accepting that the refs will never be perfect (but, I can dream).

Its been/will be a good series and I hope in the end its the hockey that's allowed to determine the results cause these two teams will definitely make it entertaining for everyone.

I can't beleive Ozzy. Had a so-so, or at least below expectation regular season and then the playoffs start and its like he just flipped a switch and has his A game every night.
