Excuse me folks...but I'm French Canadian...and not a Habs fan...never have been.

Calling francophones 'buttheads'? Really now.

A little tolerance here, folks...this is hockey series...not a cultural debate.

I apologize for the wording of that Dave, I should have included that to be french habs fans, so did not mean it to come accross as it did.

"Price is amazing, all those goals were the D's fault. Gainey knows EXACTLY what he's doing, and trust me, the Habs have Boston RIGHT where they want them: overconfident and with their guard down."

Anyway, I'm still laughing... I am all about being a passionate fan and such, but seriously, when or where do you draw a line between passionate fandom and serious f**kin' delusions?!?!

Oh dear! This guy is completely delusional. Is he okay? You should probably have him go get his head checked right away. Facepalm

Thanks DTR! I'm here with you. I really don't appreciate the insults.

Habs fans are buttheads, not francophones.

All apologies Dave, Sensgirl and any other French or French-Canadian member of this lovely hockey community, as I'm sure the comment in question merely meant the biligerant Habs fans and not simply to mean ALL Francophones and all (myself included as my Mother is 110% Pure Quebecer as are both my grandmother and grandfather). So, believe me, one half of my entire family are HARDCORE hab fans; but I'm proud to say NONE of them chant. Smile

Anyhow, I'm sure SF didn't mean any harm and unless anyone objects, I can alter said post. You are absolutely correct DTR, where this is a hockey community, and while heated debates occur on occasion, it should never enter the domain of race, creed, culture or nationality scrutiny or debasing or both.

EDIT: Also, having chatted many times with SF, I will take a guess here and assume that since he has a very unique and broad sense of humor like me, he may have simply gotten carried away and not thought that statement through.

I've since modified his post, and I hope we can all assume this misunderstanding/poorly expressed joke issue is now resolved.

Yeah. It's not even a correct translation of the appropriate "têtes de pioche" designation which Habs fans have earned.

(Simple d'esprit, sans dessein and pas d'allure work as well)

Ironically, I think it's years of Montreal's "draft anybody but the french kid" policy that has got them where they are now.

That couldn't be more true if I had said it myself, and if you ask my wife, she would echo the same sentiment, my mouth sometimes runs faster than my brain when I am on a tirade. no offense to any french speaking canadians was intentioned.

It's all good guys. Just leave the French-Canadian alone and focus on the Habs' fans. Or even better, wait until the Habs fans do something uproariously stupid after they get swept.

For now, the team is a sorry lot, much like we were last year. They will lose and they will put the garbage out. Koivu, Kovalev, Plekanec, Tanguay. All losers of the highest degree. Tanguay might actually rebound - and he might actually want to stay in Montreal.

Koivu will run to the Wild, Kovalev, who knows, Plekanec might stay because he's an RFA, Komisarek has played himself into a 3-3.5 million deal as opposed to a much higher deal, he's been awful.

Hamrlik is a waste of 3 million (he's getting 5.5), they might be able to re-sign Schneider (although I would like to have him).

The best thing is happening to Montreal. They can purge the losers and the guys who have lost the ability to play at high levels and start fresh.

Rebuild time already. Wow.

If they are looking for a place to displace higgins too, Gainey, give us a call, we will send you Auld to try and calm down Price or you can ship Price out and go with Halak/Auld.

I don't know if Gainey would go for it, but heck in order to save his job, he may be forced into some hasty decisions.

Higgins would be AWESOME in a Sens uni.
And, I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, but I think a change of scenery may be just what the doctor has ordered. Wink
