As you said before, the Red Wings are the
far superior team.
For Buffalo, it was going to be, and was, 'The Charge of the Light Brigade'...a bold flurry against hopeless odds.
What was most interesting to watch, was seeing if and how the Sabres would play knowing that this was possibly their last chance to stay in the playoff hunt. In a sense, this game was a microcosm for their season. Brilliant goaltender in Miller; some good defensemen, but not enough; talented forwards, but not enough; some team toughness, but not enough. Lindy Ruff, but not enough.
That said, after tonight's failure by the Habs,
nothing is settled.
Which means more thrilling games like this one...yet to come.
