Ovechkin now trails Malkin by only 2 points in the Art Ross race with two games in hand.

The Blackhawks and Bluejackets played a perfect game this evening.

Khabibulin and Mason gave viewers a playoff quality goaltending duel as their teams battled to a scoreless finish, decided by a fleeting moment and a beautiful breakaway goal by Kris Versteeg.

So the Hawks solidify their hold on home ice, while the Jackets move one step closer to their maiden playoff voyage.

Tonight's result makes the Habs-Rangers and Cats-Flyers games on Tuesday HUGE.

To be honest from now on I think every game is gonna be HUGE cool)
The hugest game of the year is Toronto OTtawa, its gonna decide who takes Jared Cowen and who choses Nazem Kadri Facepalm

With tonight's squeaker loss in their atomic-fueled faceoff with San Jose, the Ducks now have to wait the entire week to see if all of their winning is all for naught.

Sitting at 88 points, in seventh, with two games left, and their next contest not until Friday...the Ducks will be biting their nails. Nashville and St Louis each have a game in hand, and are a mere two points behind...

San Jose secures their lead over the Wings, who appear to have conceded the Conference Championship.

It's a recipe for a gut wrenching finish in the West.

Good news for hockey fans.

So I decide to catch the Nucks-Avs game as a nightcap, and suddenly see the VanClan being buried by the Yetis!

Four to one and done, and that last gasp from the Nuckleheads a paltry puck from Pavol after letting the Snowmen pelt them with a quartet.

We can hear them from as far as Burnaby, yelling, "BobbyLu, what's happn'n to you?"

Well, it just sets it up for the hoedown with the critters from Cowtown...put on the bulletproof vest as they big guns come out to prove who's best in the Northwest.

That'll be yer Tuesday Game of the Night, eh...

Three straight losses...the VanClan and their fans can't be happy about that, so close to the playoffs...but the KaNukes have a grudge match against the Yetis--less than a week away. Yowzah.

Ladies and Gentlemen, seven days to go and seven playoff spots yet to be decided. And eleven teams still wondering whether they'll be swinging sticks or golf clubs as spring does its thing.

"Monday, Monday", might be the song the Sabres are singing today. Of all the teams they have to beat, the mighty Wings. Uncle Mike has been in a foul mood lately, and he has ordered the Detroit Wheels to run over Ruff's Buffs, and back up a few times. Game of the Night? You got that right.

On the NastyMeter, how about that Battle of the 417? The Sens will want to jam it up the Habs' Olé...Zen Master Cory-san has instructed his skating samurai to annihilate the opponent, or commit seppuku trying. Will the Back In Blacksters rip the Bleu Blanc Rouge? Could be a Game of the Night, folks.

The fizzling Flames have a chance to redeem themselves in Hollywood, as they get a royal welcome from Los Reyes de Los Angeles. The Kings, however, will be looking to bring down Cowtown, even though they no longer have a shot at the whole enchilada.

Everybody Wang Chung tonight!

Calgary's gotta get Kipper on fire heading into the playoffs and the Montreal worries, the better I feel. Heh heh.

What's been happening to Calgary is very weird...they were rockin' and then their play just dropped off...

Oh boy, I am going to against the grain again. I'm going to say Habs win, Wings win and Flames win.

Montreal was flailing not too long ago, and they need to prepare for a playoff run, for however long. Detroit will win....well because they are the Wings, and Flames need to win for the same reasons as Montreal

The Flames have to do something...in their last 14 games, they've won only five times...their division lead has gone from 13 points to zippo.

Wings looked solid against the Wild...but that's not saying much. Babs' boys were positively porous against the Blues, paltry against the Preds, and inane against the Isles.

Montreal...well, they are playing at Le Centre Bell. I wouldn't bet against them.

But then, I ain't a bettin' man.

The Wings, too hot for the Buff Boys.

The Habs, helpless against the ZenSens.

And we await the burning news from the Flames game...

So far, the playoff song remains the same...
