I think Campoli is part of the PMD solution until Karlsson can make an impact, but I don't think he's the whole solution.

IMO, this team still badly needs to upgrade its D. I'm content with the top line, Fisher, Comrie, Vermette, Foligno and potentially Zubov and Regin as our scoring lines because PMDs will raise their point totals like they did in San Jose anyway.

The best powerforward winger is probably Zack Kassian, but I don't think he's anywhere near Morrow or Nash.

That's a tall order to find.

I would rebuild or entire defence, only keeping Campoli and Volchenkov. The rest I would listen to all offers for. I might be inclined to keep Picard though.

Phillips and Smith are slowing down. Hard to imagine M. Karlsson could be any slower than Phillips or smith, and he's younger and can score. Sounds like he can hit just as hard, or harder.

Of course it is a tall order to fill - those guys are franchise players. Could MSP be a Nash-like player?

I don't know. Why does Florida acquire Bryan McCabe in the offseason? Some Dung will just never make sense. I've given up long ago on trying to make sense of how GMs operate their teams.

I think MSP is a power guy more in the sense of a Marian Hossa or Peter Forsberg - incredibly strong on the puck (and eventually on the back-check) and able to muscle his way into danger areas like the slot with the puck, but probably not the type of guy who'll plaster you into the boards from behind if the ref isn't looking (although Forsberg threw some pretty nasty hits).

The best two prospects in the draft in terms of offensive ability and big hits are centres: Schenn and Kane.

Ottawa: A seller for the first time in years, the Senators were buyers last week getting Campoli and Comrie. Bryan Murray's job is on the line, we expect, at the deadline. Promising major roster changes and actually following through are distinctly different things. Neil and Kuba are the most marketable of the upcoming UFAs, but that won't be enough.

Thats a good question, but the question that preceeds that is: Why would a top-6 forward waive his NTC to go to a non-contending team?
That is, so far, the dumbest rumour I've read of this trading season...of course it comes from him...
