Rennie canned! (Update - Torterella new Head Coach)

This is the guy I wished Ottawa could have snagged in the off season, would have stapled Spezza to the bench if he needed to be, would have provided a few good "colour" comments for the press in Ottawa and the rest of canada.

I also agree with Redden being done. There's nowhere for him to go now, he can't hide the fact that he flat out sucks now - and Torterella won't want to miss the playoffs because of him. Healthy scratch I would imagine - but then why would Sather hire him if that's the case?

Sather is so stupid, it's actually painful to watch. He's literally got moldy Dung for brains.

Redden at 5 more years at 6.5 million. I wouldn't give him 2 million right now.

Zherdev? Sure, if you can get good value.

Kalinin, Mara, Roszival? Good luck...at least 2 of them are pending UFAs.

Not a chance...that's how bad Redden's contract is. He won't be anywhere close to my top 4 unfortunately, and I just can't justify a $6.5 million dollar bottom-pairing defenseman.

Is it worth that $$ to send Redden to the minors so you finally have that true number one goalie? Or buy Redden out for that matter.

I would do that deal if Melnyk was willing to eat his salary in the minors. If not then forget it.

Vancouver is showing mild interest. So is Dallas.
