And a nice cup of coffee please.

I can't get a good Cheese Danish since I've moved here from Montreal. Back there you couldn't throw a stick without hitting a stand or shop that sold great ones.

Don't get me started on coffee ...

...wait, I actually like Tim's. In fact one of my kids' first words was "double-double" from hearing it in the car so much.

Back on topic,

When did McGuire ever hate Price? I thought quite the opposite.

Ever notice in cop shows or movies the lead detective on the crime scene always gets a patrolman to grab him a danish?

Everytime I hear him talk about Price, he is basically kissing his a**. So I'm wondering too...

Last year, he kept saying how he wasnt ready, and needed a lot more time in the AHL before they ruin him... he doesnt say anythng now, but he used to.

Point was McGuire knows very little when it comes to the goaltending position.

Who does know though? When I look at the position the best goaltenders in the league, most of them are 2nd,3rd,4th rounders. There are even in the 7th... You even have guys like Glass who win gold medals and completely disappear.

I'm not trying to defend his harshness, but he's just commenting on what he sees.

Love that kid, but he's going to get injured playing that way, and since I don't have him in my pool it might as well be tonight against the Sens, in the first period.

Careful now. He could scratch out someones eye you know. That guy can Cat fight with the best of them Wink

He can also shoot with the best of them.

In Boondock Saints (still in my top 5 faves), Willem Dafoe's character sends the guy out to get him an Onion Bagel. Just sayin' is all....

I'm even less of a fan of this now. The only player who has been worse than Bell is Picard...

w/e he scored...cool. He still played like Dung and gets easily dominated against a team like Washington.

Regin sent back down to Bingo. We'll have to see if he gets a call back up after the All Star Break.

Cap'n Clutch wrote:Here's my positive thoughts for tonight since there's no game thread yet I'll post it here. AO and Semin will be held goal-less tonight. Elliott has a huge game and only allows 1 goal which will be scored by Green on the PP.

1st period no Scoring

2nd period Green from Federov on the PP

--------- Spezza from Alfredsson 1 minute and 38 seconds later.

3rd Period Heatley from Spezza at 17:48

Shots on goal 35 to 34 in favour of the Capitals.

Three Stars

Jason Spezza

Brian Elliott

Brent Johnson

Lets see how accurate I was.

AO and Semin held goal-less? Yup!

Elliott has a huge game and only gets scored on once? I won't get into this one too much but lets just say I believe that's how it should have gone down.

I was pretty far off on who would score but the final should have been 2 - 1 and even 3 - 2 is still a close 1 goal game. I was also way off on the stars since Johnson never played and Spezza and Elliott didn't make the Stars.

Shot count? 34 to 31. In another thread I had predicted 34 to 35.

I liked Schubert waaaaay more as a forward like wprager has mentioned earlier on. I hadn't seen it since last year, and it's far less heart wrenching to watch than Schubie on D. For that reason alone I like the line up from Tues night. Donovan is still better though :D

So with Schubert as the likely scratch on Tuesday (assuming Volchie is back) does that mean Bell is heading back to Bingo? I hope it does...that should help their drive for the playoffs. That East division is insanely competitive.
