OJ Simpson sentenced to 18 years

Are you serious..... He wrote a book on how he would have killed his wife and her Husband, in an attempt to try and make money. He is an awful human being and he is going to jail now and I couldnt be happier to see it.

Now you're just trying to start a fight. sure it was a little exaggerated, sure he's sometimes brash, but that just wasnt necessary and a stupid thing to do.

This was an overly harsh sentence for this particular crime. Cleary, OJ is being punished for past transgressions.

No matter what anyone thinks, the slate had to be wiped clean and this case had to be tried and prosecuted on it's merits.

Criminal justice has very little to do with fairness or right and wrong.

The headline for the thread is a little mis-representative. Simpson could in fact serve as little as 9 years.

You're kidding right? THERE WAS DNA EVIDENCE. He did it. Plain and simple. The critical evidence was disallowed, and the prosecution team of Clark and Darden were ridiculously overmatched by one the greatest legal teams ever assembled. At this point, knowing what is known now about what evidence was suppressed, or withheld, a retarded chimp with the IQ of George W Bush can plainly see that OJ got away with murder. The Glove don't fit? Please. It fits, so do the shoes, and the DNA evidence. Hell he practically tried to write a book about how he "could" have done it. I don't know how much lower if any, it gets than that. Point blank, if you even think there's a chance he's innocent, you need to recheck the facts, because he is guilty. He's just lucky to live in a country where the justice system won't allow him to be retried for the same crime, barring startling new evidence.

I will agree though that there is a long list of people who deserve to "go to hell" before OJ. OJ receives more than his share to hatred due to the fact that he got off and promptly went back to living a millionaire lifestyle, one which most people only dream of. Myself, I don't care either way if harm comes to OJ, but that's simply because I just don't give a Dung. But if he were to suffer a horrible fate, I couldn't care less. He's a old tired story, that hopefully will just go away now with a conviction.

Whatever the term, it's going to be significantly easier too, considering he won't be placed in the general population due to his "celebrity" status. He'll get a nice cushy cell in prison, attended to by his own guards. 3 meals a day, your own security staff, and the opportunity to do free schooling. If only life on the outside were this easy. Some people can't even afford 3 meals a day, much less can they afford togo to school, yet convicted criminals like this get treated better than certain segments of the population. It's sickening to me every time I hear that yet another criminal gets this treatment.
