Looking at nhlscap.com, 6 of the 7 defenceman on Anaheim are free agents next year (4 UFA and 2 RFA), and Pronger will be a UFA after next season.

Anyone foresee a problem with that? Niedermayer is likely to retire, or retire only to come back after Xmas.

They have a few things to offer, like Bobby Ryan (if so needed) but what else could they offer for that #1 center position? Morrison (the just signed him though, albeit a Burke move)? Plus it gets him out of the East so they rarely have to see him. I hope it isn't anyone but Ottawa though :S

Absolutely, you build a team around him on D, and guys like Heatley, Alfie and Spezza upfront and you're golden.

Absolutely.

It's too easy though, there's gonna be some kind of snag. We've got the cap room, we've got the players Martin wants...

Definitely build on D though. Phillips, Volchenkov, Smith, Picard.

Now we just need a number one and 2 D-man.
