I could agree to this, but no, I don’t “want” Stutzle, not even at 5, but that’s my hill.

Said this about an hour ago in our morning Zoom. “I’d like the Sens to get 2 of Byfield, Raymond, Rossi or Askarov. Getting 1 would be ok. Getting none would be a disaster.”

Interesting...there's a 90% chance we don't get Byfield and a 99% chance we don't get Askarov, so we HAVE to get one of Raymond, Rossi.

I think we get Rossi. No guarantees Stutzle turns into a C and with the emergence of Norris, there's less pressure on Rossi to become a 1a right away. We can ultimately roll with three 2nd line centers assuming Brown develops into a top-six forward, and hopefully we can pick up a top-six forward (ideally RW) via trade for #28 +.

Keep your Stutzle to LA hopes alive. They contacted NYR to try and swap. LA needs a winger and NYR need a C. If NYR continue to say no to the trade, maybe LA will let go of their dream to get Lafreniere and just take Stutzle instead.

If we end up with Byfield then I think the Sens take Raymond if Detroit doesn't. If Detroit takes Raymond then I think we take a d-man.

I don’t believe for a second LA would take Stutzle, but we are mere hours away from finding out.

Byfield and Raymond would be ridiculous. Basically everything falls into place if LA goes full challenged.

Don't see it. Yesterday the odds in Vegas were extremely low for Rossi. They don't lose money. It was Sanderson, Raymond pretty much even, then Drysdale, then Perfetti. However the odds were all over the place because Rossi's over under was 4.5.

We're getting the most electrifying forward we've ever had at 3 in Byfield or Stutzle

That's my preference though I think we end up with Sanderson at #5. That said, Dorion said he expects 5th overall to have an impact possibly this year, but more likely next year which to me rules out Sanderson who will be at least one year at UND + some time in the AHL so maybe he is leaning towards a forward after all.

Stop it! you're willing it into existence! Laughing3

yeah but i imagine they are going based on a weighted average of what has been mock drafted already. no way they can get into a GM's mind... unless they paid someone to have the results. who knows.

Yes, who knows, but Vegas seems to be always right about a lot of stuff.

Detroit needs a C and Rossi is far and away the 2nd best C available. Lundell is next best. Someone is going to steal Lundell.

The line doesn't make much sense though because they have Laf, Byfield, Stutzle, and Perfetti going Top 4 based on odds. I think Rossi over 4.5 is easy money.

I'm not actually betting anything this year though.

Also right now Byfield is -165 and Stutzle is -145 for #2. Strange.

I would agree that Rossi over 4.5 in a mock is easy money. With the real Askarov threat at 4, Dmen and Yzerman factor, it is either Detroit for Rossi or you win your money. That can’t be close to even odds. No way.

Yeah nevermind, it's Dung. -430. They should just change the line at that point

Just a reminder that the NHL draft is normally anti-climactic. It's cool we have two really high picks, but never count on there being a bunch of exciting trades.

Even less trades with every GM not being in the same room this year.
