Also do people realize that if Dorion is fired, Melnyk is the one hiring a GM? If you all hate Melnyk (and this Melnyk out stuff is getting so embarrassing) then you wouldn’t want that

I Don’t see Melnyk firing the GM. Melnyk cares about making money, the on ice product isn’t his main focus. That’s been proven. Had he been he wouldn’t have handicapped the team fianaciLly or traded away picks to save money or made money a central issue in managing this club.

Sorry, this Melnyk out isn’t embarrassing. Melnyk is embarrassing. He’s embarassed this franchise.
Hes likely also going to be the cause, directly or indirectly, of kalrsson and duchene leaving.
Even turris.

Ev can argue the opposite but all signs point to that. Doesn’t matter what the team publicly says. It’s jus botched PR jobs one after the other.

Last year Karlsson bought into the system, and the team followed. This year, whether through injury or indifference or personal issues, he has been very poor at leading. Don't know if he's sick of defending, or sick of the personnel out there or whatever. Ev is right in saying it's on Karlsson, at least some of it. Same for both goalies. Same for Dorion and Boucher.

Dorion traded Zibanejad and Turris for Brassard and Duchene. Both moves backfired. Boucher decided to surround himself with a coaching staff and players he knew personally. That backfired as well; just look at our defensive pairings (Crawford) and powerplay (not sure whom to blame there).

I think the best move here is to call this year a Mulligan and move on. Make sure Dorion and Boucher know what is expected him - you either win games or you win over fans. You can't lose while playing vets who have zero past and no future with Ottawa. If you don't win games while playing rookies who we, as fans, have followed from before they were even drafted, I think the fan base can be very forgiving. If you lose with Oduya and Thompson and Pyatt and Dumont, then you get jerseys thrown on the ice in frustration.

Brassard is better than Zibanejad was here and he is cheaper.  We could have lost Turris for nothing instead of getting Duchene, that would have gone over well.

Zibanejad move didn’t backfire. People don’t realized how physically messed up he is right now. He’s had to see many concussion specialists recently . They were never going to re sign him and overpay him

It’s embarassing that anything he tweets or anything the sens tweet is followed up with Melnyk our tweets. Melnyk says Merry Christmas and he gets bombarded by Melnyk out tweets and death threats . Embarrassing . I couldn’t care less who owns the team, it’s not my company and i have no say in any of it

Well the owner does affect how a company is managed. Ok, anyone could say if you don’t like the company don’t support it but sports franchises are difficult because somehow they also belong to the fans. You never want fans to desert a team.

I think this city deserves better than its current owner. I think fans have a right to voice their anger and obviously they are going to use the only two means available to them. Social media and ticket sales. If you ask me, social media is the lesser of both evil.

If not for its current owner we would all be cheering for the 67s, Habs and Leafs.

He's far from perfect but he is the way he is because he is passionate. Cheap, yes, but also passionate. He's not at all political, which is why he speaks without thinking how to say something better. But I could think of worse possibilities.

I don't know if any of you followed it, but someone threw a Sens jersey on the ice at the end of the game. Steve Warne tweeted something like "He wasn't a true fan" and the vast majority of replies were in support of the tosser. I'm not going to go into details, read it.

Anyway, most of the points started in support of the tosser can be made in support of Melnyk. He's supposed, he's frustrated, he feels helpless and hopeless and doesn't know what else he can do.
