Might as well lock this thread now. Snore-ion going on about "depth" and not wanting to give up anything to help the team. Maybe next year...

Yeah me too. Too bad brown couldn't play at the wj. Could have raised his stock.wprager wrote:There is no way, no how, not a chance that Chabot is traded. And given our RW depth (or lack thereof) I'd be really careful about trading White. As much as I liked Logan Brown, I'd move him first.

wprager wrote:Pierre was asked, point blank, if he would trade Chabot or White for Duchene yesterday and he was pretty clear saying no. He actually went about it by asking if they felt that Duchene would make the Sens a legitimate Cup contender. Again, no.
Today he was asked again about White and he said his upside is better than Duchene. He clearly loves this kid as much as he loved Sid.

Ish.... his upside better than duchene? I don't know about higher. I think best case scenario he's the same type of point producer but likely not a 30 goal scorer. I'd say he'll be a very reliable two way forward that will get 20 to 25 goals a year at best.
Thenthing you have to love about white is where he pans to play for the sens on the right side and we really need someone to play in the top 6 RW soon.
I'd be upset also if we dealt chabot.
I wouldn't mind waiting a year or two getting these guys into the line-up and holding out on major trades instead of trading them but it's karlsson I'm worried about. Somehow we have to show him that we're serious about winning it now.
If Ryan magically comes off the books we should invest in a quality wingervia FA. It's time IMO.
If Karlsson doesn't resign in July 2018, we could move him for a crap load. Think Top 6 forward, top 4 D, A plus prospect and 1st rounderFlo The Action wrote:wprager wrote:Pierre was asked, point blank, if he would trade Chabot or White for Duchene yesterday and he was pretty clear saying no. He doesn't just lead his team in every offensive category, he also leads in PIMs. Have the Sens ever had a top-six player who was hard to play against? As Grats recently said, they were "softer than puppy sh*t" -- and I don't think they have gotten much tougher since he left.
So for that reason I think Chlapik could be a real important player for Ottawa. Now, will he be able to port his game to the pros and, eventually, NHL? Time will tell.
