That's nice, but I'm not sure they get an offer better than that...with three good roster players coming over. Anyway, it's not going to happen, so it's not really worth talking about. What FA centres are available this summer?

Two for one is enough. Maybe throw in a prospect. Zibanejad is a legit 2LC with potential to be more than that. Hoffman is a proven 25-30 goal scorer and if you put him with Crosby then he'll get 30-35 or more.

Hoffman would be terrible with Crosby, he holds onto the puck too long.

Hoffman, zibanejad, 1st might get Malkin

We don't have to decide for them where he plays. All I'm saying is that if he is playing top-six minutes and 1st unit PP on a team that's offensively minded he has a chance to significantly improve on his goals.

Also, until you try it you just don't know. Hoffman carries the puck a lot because of who he plays with. What he likes doing is scoring goals. And if he finds out that he can do that and let Crosby do all the heavy lifting, he's could just as easily become a great winger for Sid. Or not. Don't really care. Zibanejad plus Hoffman should be enough; adding either Ceci or a 1st is overpayment.

if we don't end up parting ways with anyone breing brad richards on a one year could be good if zib Dung the pan next year. leadership and a couple of cups. he can still play 2C. won't cost too much either.

i'm not saying he should be our 2C but having him on if zib goes through another year of ups and down is an alright insurance policy. one we could of used this year. who do you take gomez or brad richards? i opt for richards.

I wouldn't take either really, but I don't think there's much difference between ScoGo and Richards. If we can't get a legit upgrade at centre, and keep ZBad, then I don't mind signing either for depth. But this certainly should not be Plan A.

i just have little faith that we upgrade our C this summer. maybe through FA if the prices are really low.
my guess is they will likely move Hoffman judging on what BM has been saying and from that will likely try to make another pitch for drouin to fill the gap.
I, sincerely hope that we go after some vet leadership. prefereable on the LW. there's sevral options out there in that department this year. Ladd, loui ericksson, possibly a young Boedker which isn't much leadership but would help on the wing none the less. but this team needs a tiny overhaul if you ask me. they seem keen to move hoffman and that should do it. bringing druoin and another LW in the top 6 should bring in enough in terms of change.

and as for drouin, if the info is correct they had offered colin white and that will likely be who is dealth for drouin. alongside someone like puempel and a second rounder of a first in 2017.

I'm a bit wary about trading White + for Drouin. I recognize Drouin's pedigree is better, but I think White + a 1st is way too much. I could be wrong. Maybe Drouin is gonna be lights out, but I'm very excited about White right now. White and Chabot look like the real deal and I hope they don't get moved in a large package for another prospect.
