I thought he was decent for first game of season. Not every goalie is like Anderson- able to step in after missing a long stretch and be in full form. 1 or 2 he'd like to have back but I like his battle.

No excuse not to lock that down at 4-2 and 5 to go. Very disappointing end.

Yeah, this was a pretty big disappointment. It put a real damper on Neil Night.

First one was a 5-on-3 courtesy of a lazy trip by Karlsson and an inexcusable puck over the glass my Smith (not much pressure on him, lots of room to put the puck anywhere else). Even then he *almost* stopped the puck. Second one, again, on the same powerplay (Smith still in the box) Tootoo was left all alone in the slot -- poor coverage; Hammond was up against the left post because the puck was behind the goal, the pass out in front and the one time shot were very quick -- no chance for him. Third goal was again very bad coverage. He stopped the first shot but got absolutely no help. Last one was a mad scramble and he thought he had the puck but it got loose.

If you want to call any of those bad goals, probably the last one or the third one (would've been nice if there was no rebound). But he had no support.

The thing is, we get down 2 PPGs early and it sure didn't help not having Methot out there. Can't blame this one on Hammond. The Sens came into the game with the second most times short-handed in the league (recall that they hadn't played in five days at that point). They are a very undisciplined team right now. That third period hook by Stone was absolutely horrible. What the hell was he thinking? This isn't a rodeo. Well, it kinda was.

Yeah, I have a tough time blaming Hammond (or at least blaming Hammond exclusively) for the loss last night. He was pretty good in OT and then the shootout.

The Smith penalty that put us down 2 guys was so unnecessary and dumb. Lucky he scored later to tie it because at least one of those were on him.

I've watched a few games in the NHL this season, there are bad coverages on every single team but the goalie needs to make good saves when it matters.

I don't think you scratch a guy for accidentally flipping the puck over the glass. The fourth line is not the reason the Sens are losing games.

we've also only lost 2 games this year

I was actually specifically asking SD since he agreed with me on the severity of that penalty. You simply cannot "accidentally flip" the puck when you are killing a penalty. That puck should have been directed exactly where it needed to go unless it was deflected. It's not like he dove to knock it away and, thus, had little control over where it went. It was on his stick, on his forehand, I believe, and he was not bothered very much or rushed. This was not an accident but, rather, a mistake.

Pretty sure we lost to Montreal 3-1 and were shutout by the Penguins. Then the SO losses the last two games (Nashville and Jersey). They are winless at home. They are also 3rd i the Division so not even in need of a Wildcard spot.

In three OT games this year the Sens have taken 3 minor penalties. 3 minors in 15 minutes of icetime is like taking 12 minors in a game. They *have to* fix this.

So you're suggesting they healthy-scratch Smith after he scored a goal and call someone up from the AHL and pay an extra NHL salary because Smith got a puck over the glass penalty?

Definitely not, he showed a lot in that game to like. That play was 100% dumb, but he made up for it.

The whole line was great. Prince there added a huge dimension of speed and skill.

I'd like chiasson to go away now please.
