I personally don't know what they're waiting for with Lazar really. Send him back to Junior and then AHL next year to regain his mojo. Didn't Karls Karlsson even spend some time in the AHL? Makes sense to me.

Phillips and Neil are both getting back in the lineup. It'll be Wiercioch scratched on D and one of Condra, Lazar, or Michalek as the healthy forward scratches.

I see no reason why our beloved Senatores can't go on a run where they win 15 of 18 starting TONIGHT!!!!

LET'S DO IT!!!!

As long as they're skating in CP right now, they're about to go on a tear. Just like that other time.

The other time they played dodgeball, no skating.

I just heard a funny noise from the back of the tank bus. Probably nothing.

We have four third line centres. That's a compliment to Pageau, but no one else. I wonder how which of our "big guns" are going to win this game for us in the 3rd?

Bobby R turns the puck over at our blue line and that's all she wrote. Another lead blown.

Can anyone figure put what Karlsson was trying to do on that play? He was just standing and observing.

Yup, just like I thought -- nothing.

two straight games with blown leads in the 3rd....could have easily been a 3 game winning streak. 4 if you go back to the 2 goal lead in dallas.

just beat the leafs tomorrow...please

Karlsson has been amazing recently. The sad thing is if he played like this and put up 55-60 points people probably wouldn't consider him a top D because he didn't have the same numbers he used to. But I think he's gonna develop into a two-way scoring force, if he hasn't already

It's actually nothing new. Karlsson at his best was producing ridiculous amounts of points AND dominating in all zones. People just choose to ignore it. You don't have to dish out hits and block shots to defend. Stealing pucks and coming out of corners with the puck after winning it from 2 opponents with regularity is also defense and Karlsson is the King.

Repeating that he can't play defense over and over again doesn't make it true. Nonsense like "he needs to defend more and score less" is just stupid. (I don't think I've ever typed that word) He can do both and he's proven that.

you're right, but we haven't seen it the last couple of years. He has been bad defensively since he got injured and up until MacLean was fired.

For sure. I was talking about when he's at his best obviously. At the top of his game, he's the best player on the ice, counting the opposing team, for just about every game he plays.
