Side bets for the 2014/2015 Season

This is a 'challenge' thread - as in, put your money where your mouth is.

So far, the bets are:

Tampa Bay Lightning to make the playoffs:

SD says yes, NEELY says no.
SG says yes, NEELY says no.

Bet is $20

I'm not sure, but I might have bet EV too, I'll have to check.


Washington finishes higher than Philly:

SD says no, DennyCrane says Yes

Bet is $10

I'm in.

Yeah, we bet last year sometime.

I remember for sure... and SD pays off his bets, legit.

Had to pay 40 this summer because of the Spezza trade.

I legit thought we'd get berglund, rattie and 1st.

I actually don't bet very much, believe it or not.

Did you bet that? Did you try to pick the specific players coming back? If so, I hope you got heavy odds.

It was top 6 player, top 3 prospect and a 1st. There were a lot of moving parts, but I would have been good if Dallas had given a 1st.

I'll bet that the Stars don't make the playoffs?

That's not much of a stretch. I think I had them coming in at 8.

The deal ended up being not that far off. Chiasson could be a top-6, so far so good IMO. Nick Paul will be considered a top prospect if he makes Team Canada. And a 2nd + Guptill is not far off of a first, which would have been a pick around 22 overall. That 2nd is in a strong draft while the 1st would have been in a weak draft.
