Phillips and Spezza there man... ugh. Spezza has a 3rd period to remember and then that awful, disgusting back check. He skates and he doesn't score there.

Doesn't matter, if you're on the ice in OT you don't cough up the puck on the blue line with 2 guys going on you, just dump it.

MacLean leaning on those "vets" even if they're long past their expiry date.

Perfect microcosm of the season, so called season vets and leadership Diddle up and cost the game even though the coach keeps leaning on them.

btw I'm not blaming the loss on him or anything, I'm just looking at the big picture and in the next 2 years I think he's gonna make these kind of plays a few more times and we can't afford that.

The game as a whole was a clusterdiddle for 90% of the game. Uncacceptable for a must win game.

Random thoughts:

Nashville outplayed us for two periods.  I was counting our shifts where we got sustained pressure in the offensive zone.  Through two periods, we had two of those shifts.  40 minutes of hockey, and 2 good offensive shifts.  Yikes. 

Nashville got two lucky goals off random deflections.  Rinne stoned Karlsson on that one chance.  Then we got back a couple good breaks in the 3rd and it all evened out. 

In the 3rd period, there should've been a boarding penalty on the hit from behind on Hoffman, and then another Senator got a high stick and the refs missed that too.  There were a couple questionable non-calls in OT too...oh well.

The Lehner requires no warmup.  They normally give goalies at least a couple minutes to warm up when they come in as an injury replacement, but Lehner literally just skated into the crease and said he was good to go. 

Going in to OT, I said I just wanted to see Karlsson, Methot, Cowen, and Gryba on the back-end.  The foot speed of Phillips is concerning in 4-on-4.  That said, he was put in a pretty bad spot there. 

Great save by Lehner on the OT breakaway, but nothing he can do about the rebound chance.

We didn't really deserve a point out of this game.  We're now 3 pts back of Columbus, but they have a game in hand.

Bobby Ryan looked like the Ryan of the first 25 games tonight. Jump in his step, using his body, shooting. That could be huge.

Another positive is hemsky/Spezza/Michalek. That is fun to watch

Well at least we know which Czech to sign this off season...

I'm not even sure why Philips kept pushing the one Pred player when the other one was going on a breakaway
