There were more than 10 shots on the PK after those stupid penalties so...

Sens have 1 more long road stretch and if the can snag 4 of 6 out West then they are in great shape. That Detroit game is going to be so big.

I don't think he stopped a single shot. Zibanejad, Da Costa and Turris scored, Spezza hit the post and Michalek the post/crossbar. And I thought Lehner and Anderson were bad in shootouts -- Lehner is getting better, little by little.

Yeah, as bad as Lehner is in shootouts, Halak was even worse last night. I don't know what the St. Louis shooters were thinking. Two guys score on Lehner by either deking or shooting high on him...then two of the next three guys try to go five hole...good stops by Lehner all the same.

This was a fairly crazy game for a variety of reasons, and to be honest, we were pretty lucky to come out of that with one point, let alone two. Halak was not good.

Good set of balls on P-Mac for putting Da Costa in the shootout. Also, Da Costa got a shift in OT which was nice to see.

I said that 2 of 4 points out of the games vs the Pens and Blues would be a win in my book, and 3 of 4 is terrific. It's all meaningless if we can't beat Buffalo though...we're in a position where we REALLY have to take advantage of lesser opponents.

Boston on Saturday is a very winnable game as well with Chara being gone, Rask probably on the bench, Bergeron, Kreici, Eriksson all looking forward to their flights in the next 24 hours. If they get 3 of 4 points for 8 of 12 in that 6 game stretch the Sens are laughing into the break and probably holding down a playoff position.

Back 1/2 they get a ton of home games, Flames twice, Islanders twice, and some other very winnable games if they just keep going as they are. Meanwhile Montreal and Toronto both have their West Coast swings after the break. First game back from the break for the Sens they are catching Detroit on the 2nd 1/2 of the back to back with 10 of their guys having played in the Olympics. The playoffs are there for the taking for the Sens, simple as that.

Is it too early to pronounce da costa as NHL ready?

He's always had NHL skill... we'll see what happens when he has a bad game and how he bounces back from that when the time comes. This is the best he has looked in the NHL at this point though and he is very quickly earning himself a 1 way deal heading into next year.

It's Cussing annoying when Spezza has 3 points games or even good games, because the fanboys all come out and say "see this why you can't trade him, you are all haters". Like come on, when's the last time he had a game like that. Come playoff time he won't be having any sort of game like this.

Spezza had a great game last night, helped the Sens win... I'm happy. He may have very well been crapped on by the coach and GM for what he said in the media yesterday. Like Anderson calling out the players on Saturday and playing like that on Monday, Spezza earned a little respect back with that performance.

That said there were still a lot of things in his game last night that were tough to watch. Anyways, he had a solid game, leave it at that, hopefully he keeps going (he won't) and they can get 3-4 more points before the break.
