Seriously, though, I watched the game. Pageau did a lot of nothing. He skated around, but so did Conacher for many, many games. Looked like he was really trying hard, but there were no tangible results from his game (except for screening the goalie on a couple of plays that led to goals). A big guy, when not scoring, can hit and create chances for others or, especially in a series, soften the opposition. But when a little guy is out there chances are he's not going to "soften" the opposition or create space. The perfect little guy, IMO, is Gallagher. He not only draws a lot of penalties (essentially by being a prick) but he also creates scoring chances and scores by getting into the crease and refusing to come out; sometimes he goes too far (which is subjective, depending on the refs) and starts *taking* penalties, and his usefulness drops. But none of that was happening with Pageau. He skated, hard, sure, but there was nothing tangible to say he had a great game.
