No, today it's execution and Lehner isn't exactly making a case for himself, giving Mac every opportunity to go back to Anderson (which he should have done anyway because of the back-to-back).

Gonna be a season full of this from here on. This is a learning year for sure after overachieving badly last year. Kids have to play, mistakes will happen, but this team gives the puck away more than any team I think I've ever seen. It's comical to watch sometimes.

Would be nice to get a momentum shift from our captain once in a…year?

We are clearly a joke man, but it's not based on this game tonight, it's based on the entire season.
Buffalo also outplayed San Jose a few weeks back, but the standings show what you are, not one game.

there's no consistency, the team isn't showing they can play the same game day in-day out. this is by no means a playoff team to say the least. usually i'm ok with some years being worst then other, i'd usually say if at least a few players are gonna have slumps might as well have em together and rebound hard but it stings this year, no 1st rounder and do we even have a second rounder?

i dunno, i had expectations this year, not to contend for the cup but to at least show that the work the young ones had done last year was gonna be the glue that bind them this year. it's like a wet paper bag team this year. just falls apart.

The work the young ones did was overrated because of goaltenders.

The joke is being the worst team in the league, by far, during the first 10 mins of a game and after 35 games not a single one person in the organization knows why it's happening. Worse, I think they know exactly what's wrong, and it's leadership because the kids are not learning how to face adversity and how to react to bad breaks (officiating etc). It's certainly not Spezza and Philips that are gonna have momentum changing shifts and lead by example to show the young guys how it's done.
So I guess what I'm saying is that the joke is not really the team, more like the organization. Not enough guts to fix the problem.
