Terrible bus/train accident claims 6 lives

Unfortunately 5 dead, more severely injured.  Please keep discussions about this tragedy in here.

Police are interviewing survivors and have told them they are not allowed to use their phones to call/text loved ones. That's got to be a little strange, right?

The barrier was down and the lights were flashing, and the bus apparently ran through those and crashed into the train. Some reports said people on the bus were screaming at the driver to stop.

Makes you wonder if the police are treating this as not just an accident investigation. I hope I'm wrong.

I have a lot of friends in Barrhaven. One, apparently, just missed that bus on the way to work.

You just hope the driver wasn't suicidal here...

Yup, my little cousin rolled up on it basically just after it happened in a bus that followed.

Oh, I think the driver of that bus was either suicidal or had a heart attack or fell asleep. There's something rotten in Denmark here. As you said, there were people yelling at him to stop and he just kept going. Who does that?

A caller on CFRA said that his girlfriend, who was on the bus, told him the driver was dead. This was at about 9.15

Driver is dead for sure. Look at the wreck.

Dung, that's a bit of a shame. Trying to figure out this tragedy just got a little harder.

31 patients transported to local hospitals, 11 critical. 4 Q-Carleton, 4 civic, 6 general, 17 Montfort (less critical). 6 deaths.
