He's been skating for a while I don't think they've ever inserted him anywhere outside the top-6, they might keep his icetime lower than usual.

In Paul MacLean's 1st season Michalek played on the 3rd line after returning from an injury. Not necessarily to earn his way up but to re-integrate into the lineup.

Agreed. Also, the way Mac rolled lines last game, 9MM will get lots of time to get back into things.

Oh, looks like he's playing for sure:

The Ottawa Senators will welcome a familiar face to the lineup this evening when they face the Devils from Prudential Center in New Jersey.

Milan Michalek returns to game action after missing the past 15 games due to a knee injury. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on March 19 to clean up debris and on Friday morning said he's ready to play.

Thanks! I'm just happy that I got the right thread. I know there have been problems with that for some posters. Sarcasm

Mendes: MacLean says Michalek will play tonight. Matt Kassian will be a healthy scratch. Anderson to start in goal.

Mendes: Michalek will start on a line with Turris & Alfredsson. Latendresse moved down to a line with Smith-Neil.

Mendes: Lines will look like this: Michalek-Turris-Alfredsson. Conacher-Zibanejad-Silfverberg. Latendresse-Smith-Neil. Greening-Pageau-Condra.

Good... load up the #1 line.. Sens need points .. all they can get..

The Sens have to get back to Pesky again. They need to play agressive and play to win.. instead of playing not to lose...

Apparently the reason for this game versus the Philly game was that they have 2 days off after it. So they are anticipating him needing more rest than usual. Given that, it's not a leap to think he could stand to have less ice time than usual.

Fair enough. They can always use Lats as a swing man. He can work extra duty on the first line when 9MM needs a break.

He must have said a joke about mustaches or crazy eyes or something. Or maybe he boasted about leading the team in goals and PMac will not play him until all of the 4th liners have 5 goals.

Good point. They'll have the Latitude to do that.
