Well, MacLean did say they were going to approach the last 7 games as a "best of 7" playoff series.
The won the first 4.
Sweep.
Series over.

Watching Carolina just slowly take over the game and Anderson totally giving up on that play by Skinner that EK had to bail him out, it's just sad to see that sort of thing with playoffs looming.
New Jersey clinched a spot but they're still winning.

Clinched the playoffs the day before, facing your probable playoff opponent the next game, CAR coming off an embarrassing loss & looking to tighten up. Not unavoidable, but rather predictable.
As for playing every game like it's game 7, well, sure, that's the ideal -- but I don't think there's any player, let alone an entire team, that doesn't slip up now & then, in spite of individual & organizational desires. It's a long season. Let's just hope the Sens remember how hard they had to work to get to the playoffs, and to play every game they have there with that game 7 intensity.

I'm not overly concerned that we lost that game personally, but I do agree that with MacLean saying that they wanted to finish out strong and prepare themselves for the playoffs - it didn't look very good.
As always with this team, you allow them the benefit of the doubt, they just clinched, they looked all over the place and sloppy, Gilroy was in and sucked as usual, Neil got 2 penalties for playing hockey. We'll see how they rebound Thursday.

Now's not the time to be getting into slumps and playing "tentative" as they were before, that's all.
Tomorrow's game will be huge, 1st round matchup preview.

But he does suck. He's screened our own goalie several times for a goal with only a small number of games in a Sens uniform.
He can't pass, almost all of his streatch passes are incomplete, either intercepted or outright miss their target.
He pinches like Karlsson but misses the net, assuming he gets a shot off.
He skates well, that's about it, he's awful. Worst player on the team, Carkner's actually gotten better and he's been injured most of the year so he's at a disadvantage.

Not saying he's not bad, but give it a rest. He's not the reason they lost yesterday yeesh

I didn't say we lost because of him, I just said he is terrible.

And I was simply eluding to the reason he was IN was because Gonch was OUT.Hoags wrote:Michallica wrote:

They're going to have to find another right handed puck mover in the offseason.
