Not sure if Z-Bad's hockey IQ is anything to worry about, I think and hope that he'll learn some of the patience required in the offensive zone this year in the SEL. He needs to understand that he has the tools and to go ahead and use them. Confidence appears to be an issue, hopefully it won't be for long.

He also said that Elliott is not a #1 goalie. Well, ok, maybe he is a #1.5.

Speaking of goalies, the Russian one stopped 40 shots for a shutout. That Switzerland got 40 shots against Russia doesn't say much for Russia's defense. And getting just 3 goals doesn't say much for their offense (by comparison, Canada scored a 7-1 exhibition win). But we know their defense and offense will be better, and if they have a hot goalie, look out. Whoever plays them next better not take them lightly because of *only* beating Switzerland 3-0.

Zibanejad needs to take a page out of Culek's book.

When he was drafted Tim Murray said that Culek would be the most long-term of the prospects they got. I think he was barely old enough for the draft at the time too.

Well I missed the first two periods of this Sweden - Switzerland game but they showed some highlights of Zibby's work so far in the game and it looks like he's been doing more in terms of carrying the puck himself, especially in the offensive zone. Also got off another beauty one-timer that the goalie made an incredible save on.

Hopefully he can keep it up.
