Oops...saw the Maurice firing got addressed in the "General" thread before I posted in here. Things moving fast this morning.
I think Washington is probably about as uncoachable a team as you can get. Ovechkin had no respect for Boudreau, and it's hard to see the situation improving with Hunter. Hunter will put up with even LESS poop, and will certainly demand that Ovie be defensively responsible…how does this improve the situation? Ovechkin just wants to run & gun, and play however he sees fit at any given time. I don't think any coach would put up with this, and certainly not Hunter.
Semin is another problem, although one that is easily dealt with via trade.
Another guy I always wonder about is Green…Not sure how coachable he is either, although he rarely gets the spotlight given the Ovechkin problem. I think Green has a pretty sizeable ego, but he may actually respond well to Hunter. I don't think I can say the same about Ovechkin.
