I just couldn't pick a Russian with a 1st rounder. Too much uncertainty. I don't care how many years he's played in NA, or how many professions he makes about 'wanting to play in the NHL.'

You're pretty safe with Nail IMO.

I don't want any questions as to whether the player I draft inside the top 5 is actually going to play in NA. With a Russian, regardless of who, you always have to deal with that uncertainty as long as the KHL exists.

It's not Nail, it's the NHL and the labour uncertainty. What do you do if the NHL doesn't start on time and the KHL throws a boat load of money at him. If he signs you've lost your first rounder for the entire length of the contract.
