So you obviously think he's going straight to the NHL as 2nd line C.

I would think about this personally:

Filatov - Spezza - Butler
Michalek - Zibanejad - Alfredsson (nice line IMO)
Foligno - Regin- Greening (learn to play RW please!)
Z.Smith - Konopka - Neil

Something like that give us an interesting balance throughout the lineup IMO.

You are missing Condra. He will be in the lineup. Smart player... good defensively.. good on-ice vision.

Too many forwards... who is out?

Damn, I did forget him....uh...see, this is what I meant by Konopka. I like him as a player, but we have 58 bottom 6 players.

regin and Zib might interchange at the beginning between 2C and 3C. the 3C position can be offensive, so i'm glad those 2 are options. Dacosta from what I gathered is ready but just isn't physical enough in his game. right? he better get it fast cuz that's the NHL.

whatever happens this will push people at training camp. one way or another someone has to prove they can and want that 2C spot.

SteffeG says: "I don't want to play in the AHL. If I'm not in the NHL, Djurgården is the best - and only - option." says Zibanejad to Aftonbladet.

So, NHL or bust for Zib.

Well yeah, I'd rather him play SEL than AHL.

Without looking at the eligibility rules, or having his SEL contract in front of me, I'm going to say playing in the AHL probably isn't even an option available to him right now.

I really, really dislike it when players make these kinds of comments.

It's an option, but if he wants to go to Sweden he has to. He would have to say "I am ok playing for the AHL before the SEL"

I don't think he's being rude or anything. They know this is the case, as he still has that 1 year on his Swedish deal.

I thought we had already established that it was either the NHL or SEL for Zibby? He can't play in the AHL.

He can play in the AHL if he wants to...

As far as I know, he's European so the under-20 rule doesn't apply to him.

Actually I don't believe he can plan in the AHL,

He has an existing contract with his club in the SEL, which I believe because of the transfer agreement 2 conditions had to be met in order for him to stay in N.A.

1. He had to be signed to a contract by July 15th.
2. He has to make the Ottawa Senators. I don't believe he can play in the AHL, unless his club releases him.

So it's either Ottawa or SEL.

No, he can play in the AHL but he first has to be given the option to go back to Sweden. That's priority #1, but if he agrees to play AHL then he can play.

Adam Larsson is in the same situtation, and both Larsson and the Devils want him to play in the AHL/NHL next year.

Also, the contract limit was August 15. July 15 was so they didn't have to pay a fee to his SEL team afterwards.
