Okay...I need to hear it from time to time because it makes me so scared to think we could 'fall' to 4th or 5th and lose out on one of the 3 guys I want so badly. It's obviously been a long, long year, we don't need to vault up the standings now thanks.

From what I gather, and I'm certainly no expert, there are 4 credible picks to choose from. Strome at 5 might be as good, or better than one or 2 or those 4. Then, further down, you have a guy like Jensen who seems to be improving greatly year over year.

I think we get an NHL-ready player and 2 "steals" later on.

I'm less concerned about our pick and more interested in tracking that NSH pick, to be honest.

If we don`t take Landeskog, they're probably thinking Zibanejad with the NAS pick. Just as big, can play C or RW, just as tough if not tougher, also a goal scorer and is 6 months younger.

I would almost rather The Sens pick 3rd that way they really don't have a choice between RNH and Landeskog, they have to take the one that's left. Can't make a mistake that way.

Edmonton is absolutely drafting 1st short of winning the lotto and you can bet the end up taking Larsson.

Yeah, Pierre was going on last night about how great Larsson was and what a good fit he'll be in Edmonton. I can only assume that even if Ottawa winds up with #1 overall, Edmonton will likely want to trade up to ensure they get Larsson. They are in desperate need of a prospect like Larsson on D.

I watched some of the Oilers/Caps game last night, and I would have to agree that Edmonton will finish dead last. They looked quite terrible, and aren't getting quality goaltending like we are.

Yeah, I think The Oilers are going to get first dibs baring losing the lotto. Pierre is right in the sense they 100% need to go after Larsson, they have nothing resembling a true top piaring D man in the system beside Whitney, who probably won't stick around for the rebuild in its entirerty.

Sens will get one of Landeskog or RNH... rumours around the net are they may even take Strome... we'll see about that one.

I think those rumours stem from the potential that Landeskog is already gone by the time we pick and that the Senators have limited interest in either NPH or Couturier.

I'm pretty sure that if Landeskog is gone, Ottawa trades down a couple of spots.

That's a very good point. If the beliefe is that Strome is on par with RNH or the prefere the package that he brings over RNH than perhaps that's what they do. I have no idea what their list looks like but you could be very right.

I'm just guessing too but we'll call it an educated guess. Without really knowing who they will pick or how many picks they will make in the end I'm ready to assume Ottawa will be very aggressive at the draft in their picking and trading.

No Tank Nation games tonight other than the Sens/Panthers.

I guess it depends on how strong the Sens' scouts feel about that, if they like Strome as much ore more as RNH, it'll also come down to what the Panthers or Blues or whoever is offering. I'd be surprised personally if we land in the top 3 picks and we aren't overjoyed to take either RNH or Lando, but we'll see I guess.

I said this the day that Anderson was acquired. We are at risk of losing our draft standing. Who's starting to get real nervous about this?

It's a foregone conclusion that the Oilers are finishing below us, and Colorado is looking by the day more and more likely to fall below us. Even the Isles are only 7 up with two more games played. I don't much care that Colorado and Edmonton play twice either, since a split between those two games does nothing to help us.

This is getting really, really worriesome and will continue to be until we know what's going on with regards to re-signing Anderson. If we don't re-sign him and he costs us a top 4 spot, Murray is going to look like a massive tool.

We're now just 3 pts. back from Colorado. 5pts back from NYI with two games in hand. 6pts back from FLA with one game in hand. It's getting tight down there.

Yeah. Again though, this team sucked tonight, we'll face better foe coming up in Tampa, NJ, Buffalo, Pittsburgh etc.

We beat NJ last time. Buffalo doesn't have much success against us. I wouldn't be surprised if we win (or earn points in) 2 of those 4 games. We really need to be playing less than .500 hockey. Going .500 (which doesn't seem like a stretch considering our record with Anderson) for the rest of the year virtually guarantees we'll slip another spot in the standings at best.

This Anderson move is so high risk, I'm starting to break out in hives about it. I have a feeling he's not going to re-sign here. No evidence to back it up, just a bad feeling. Drafting 5th just isn't an option, but it would be managable if Anderson was re-signed.

I just don't understand how this Anderson deal makes sense. Yes, I understand that we "get a look at him", but upgrading the goaltending on a tanking team seems so counterproductive. Are we tanking or not? WTF.

I'm officially freaking out about this. I'll be the one calling for Murray's head when this move blows up in our faces. The worst case scenario we all discussed the day this deal was made is looking more and more likely.
