Okay...I need to hear it from time to time because it makes me so scared to think we could 'fall' to 4th or 5th and lose out on one of the 3 guys I want so badly. It's obviously been a long, long year, we don't need to vault up the standings now thanks.
From what I gather, and I'm certainly no expert, there are 4 credible picks to choose from. Strome at 5 might be as good, or better than one or 2 or those 4. Then, further down, you have a guy like Jensen who seems to be improving greatly year over year.
I think we get an NHL-ready player and 2 "steals" later on.
I'm less concerned about our pick and more interested in tracking that NSH pick, to be honest.
NEELY wrote:I would almost rather The Sens pick 3rd that way they really don't have a choice between RNH and Landeskog, they have to take the one that's left. Can't make a mistake that way.
Edmonton is absolutely drafting 1st short of winning the lotto and you can bet the end up taking Larsson.
NEELY wrote:Yeah, I think The Oilers are going to get first dibs baring losing the lotto. Pierre is right in the sense they 100% need to go after Larsson, they have nothing resembling a true top piaring D man in the system beside Whitney, who probably won't stick around for the rebuild in its entirerty.
Sens will get one of Landeskog or RNH... rumours around the net are they may even take Strome... we'll see about that one.
NEELY wrote:That's a very good point. If the beliefe is that Strome is on par with RNH or the prefere the package that he brings over RNH than perhaps that's what they do. I have no idea what their list looks like but you could be very right.

I think those rumours stem from the potential that Landeskog is already gone by the time we pick and that the Senators have limited interest in either NPH or Couturier.
I'm pretty sure that if Landeskog is gone, Ottawa trades down a couple of spots.

It's a foregone conclusion that the Oilers are finishing below us, and Colorado is looking by the day more and more likely to fall below us. Even the Isles are only 7 up with two more games played. I don't much care that Colorado and Edmonton play twice either, since a split between those two games does nothing to help us.
This is getting really, really worriesome and will continue to be until we know what's going on with regards to re-signing Anderson. If we don't re-sign him and he's cost us a top 4 spot, Murray is going to look like a massive tool.

Yeah. Again though, this team sucked tonight, we'll face better foe coming up in Tampa, NJ, Buffalo, Pittsburgh etc.
