We'll take Axelsson for a mid-round pick if you wish.

Negative. Pass.

Would you consider bringing back Peter in the place of McAmmond? Any chance?
It's a big gamble considering Murray didn't want him in the firs place because of his poor effort.... and obviously that hasn't changed. Peter the person and at times the player were great to have around. Could Hartsburg turn him around?

I think he could turn him around for sure, but now we have guys like Ruutu, Winchester, Bass, Donovan, Kelly who can work the boards and be nasty and gritty. I think Schaefer's time has passed here...there was a time in the summer where I would have thought about bringing him back, but now there's very little point IMHO.
Schaeffer hated it here and I think a lot of fans hated him here. Just waive bee-bye!DashRiprock wrote:I was just thinking from a nostalgic POV... He likely still has many friends on the team (Fisher)... and while you're probably right in saying the ship has sailed, but imagine:
Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson
Kelly-Vermette-Winchester
Schaefer-Fisher-Neil
Ruutu-Foligno-Donovan
on second thought I don't like it... Foligno should be top 6 or 9 at worst. I think what we have know is great.
DashRiprock wrote:It's really hard to not like him, he was a really funy guy, on and off the ice. And he did have some spectacular goals. Somewhere though he got lazy and refused to do anything but dump the puck and live along the boards.
DashRiprock wrote:I've decided against it though... the liens we have now are working great together, no need to cgane anything now.
Not even sure if Schaefer is an upgrade over McAmmond. More money, same production... slightly more healthy.
