Good for them, he said some really negative things about them - and true or not, those should have stayed behind closed doors.

I bet he retires to avoid the AHL if it comes to that.

Yeah, if he clears, I would not be surprised at a retirement being done... too bad... not the way you want to go out.

Unless they try re-entry...

WOW! WAIVED??!! Ok then. I guess there were no takers. What in the world?? Odd move, but they need to get him out of there. Could they seriously not have gotten a prospect or pick in return from anyone? I don't get it at all.

I don't really understand this either. No team wanted him?

The Oilers will have quite a bit of cap space once he clears...

According to Lebrun: "Oilers have zero interest in eating half of Souray's contract via re-entry waivers. They want to lose his full contract on normal waivers."

So, he's either claimed on the way down or he'll be buried in the minors.

Tambellini is sending a message, and looks to be protecting Hall from being affected by players who don't want to be there.

Remind me...was this not what I suggested to do for Cheechoo?

Maybe Melnyk didn't want to pay is full salary in the minors... still not sure why we bought him out and didn't leave him down there... but I digress...

Twitter is over capacity.

I can't get on Twitter. Anyone else having this message come up?

The more I hear about this, the cooler it is. If Heatley didn't have a NMC, I would have loved to see the Sens do this. Cap space trumps almost any return you can get - maybe even trumps Michalek - although, I'm very happy he's a Sen.

I hope it gets straightened out because I predict BIG things today. Particularly in Ottawa. Souray waived! - Page 2 235689 Souray waived! - Page 2 235689 Souray waived! - Page 2 805406 Souray waived! - Page 2 805406

Souray is NOT going to be buried in the minors. He's going to be on a new team.

He'll keep him down there while he works on a deal... I'm sure this is just to see if he can off-load him for free. He probably won't be assigned while Tambo works on some sort of deal.

Here's the thing that is great about that. While fans might be pissed that the team gets nothing other than cap flexibility, Heatley's all of a sudden faced with getting picked up by any team that wants him starting from the worst team (Edmonton lol), or accepting a trade elsewhere. Win-win for Ottawa, in a situation that has loser written all over it.

Had Ottawa been able to do that, they very well could have had Cammalleri.
