Last time I heard that was in Game 7 vs. Carolina last year.

Congratulations for riding a team system into the record books, Fraudeur. You won't be looking so good in Vancouver. Martin Brodeur hits 104. - Page 2 159628

What took you so long?

You started counting down from 3. SSF started from 104.

Amazing.... Even if you believe that he benefits from the team's system, what he has accomplished is challenged... 104 shuthouts will never be touched by another goaltender... Congrats!

He also benefited from a longer season did he not? Still impressive but untouchable? Never say never.

Maybe but if we look at Luongo:

30 years old- 47 shuthouts I believe... He would need to average 5.7 shutouts per season if he were to play till he's 40 to tie the 104 wich will probably be more when Brodeur retires...

He's probably the best bet to comme close... I will take back my comment that it will never be touched again.. It is still very unlikely.

I think Lehner will beat that record.

He's 28 in March, but he only has 21 shutouts right now....and his pace has been really slowing down. If he played behind a better team though, watch out!

He's too old IMO... Luongo is rigth beside him and is 4 years younger... If he were to retiree by 40 he would have six years to get 50+ shuthouts... Maybe he plays longer who knows... It's a whole lot of maybe's.

Steve Mason is 20 with 11 shutouts....at his pace, he'd be at 91 when he was 30 assuming health and good play.

That would be crazy.... Simply amazing if that were to happen. Pretty cool to think about...

And the Wins and appearances record too. Ole!

There's definitely potential there with his abilities and the Defensive core we'll have in front of him. HappyDance1

The goalie would need a 20-year commitment to the philosophy that not losing is more important than winning.

Patrick Lalime had 30 shutouts in 5 years with Ottawa, by the way.

Yes. Patrick Lalime.

Why do people always rag on this guy? Best goaltender in this franchise's history. That's a fact whether people like it or not.

No idea. If Leclaire becomes the best, he will have taken that title from Lalime IMO.

Because the memories of failed playoffs hurt more than regular season performance. The 2003/04 post season is calling... with Joe Nieuwendyk on line 2.
