Frig...

I was just typing that...its the right thing to do.
Well, with Cheechoo seeming to get things going better... maybe it will help. I dunno. We're running out of options that don't involved bench, waive, trade or buy-out.

Cheechoo is slow, Kovalev is slow, Spezza likes to play slow and has Dung acceleration...maybe we can slow the game down enough on that line to put the other team to sleep and then run roughshod!!

HA!

The "molasses" line. Who needs to trap... we'll just get them stuck in our slowness...

How about Cheechoo-Spezza-Foligno? All three of them need to produce more and it could work nicely with the two forecheckers.

It's worth a try.

It didn't work nicely with two all-star forecheckers, so I'm not sure how a downgrade in wingers would help GAME DAY: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Tue. Dec. 8th, 2009 PLUS post game thoughts - Page 29 Confused I also don't think Foligno has shown any signs of being a top-6 forward this season. He's a 3rd liner now and may always be...if we plan on keeping him long-term, better to mold him into a solid defensive guy who can put up 20-20 on a consistent basis.

I'm not kidding when I say that I would NEVER break up the Michalek - Fisher - Alfredsson line. They're just incredible together.

He's going to get bigger, probably faster as well. As he adjusts to NHL systems he'll better know how to exploit them, and the team will look for him more in the offensive zone. Once he bulks up and adjusts to the speed of NHL players, I think the open-ice hitting's going to emerge as well.

He probably won't ever be as good in the defensive zone as Phillips is, but he'll be stuck there half the amount of time Phillips is.

Agreed. It's the only thing we got going now.

I would not be averse to trying...

Michalek - Fisher - Alfie
Cheechoo - Spezza - Kovalev
Foligno - Kelly - Shannon
Rutuu - Winchester - Neil

Get our crash and bash 4th line back together.

Meh.

I'm out of ideas.

Blow it up!
