I agree, Elliott wont be the problem. Elliott is good enough to be a starter in The NHL. Still one of my favorite goaltenders to watch play in The NHL.

I think Elliott will be fine but with the way Ottawa has been playing to start games I think it'll catch up to them. Elliott is good but not great yet. I think that's the difference between having him or having Leclaire in the net. Leclaire anticipates and reads the play better in order to make those saves that other goalies wouldn't and we'd be looking on saying the goalie had no chance on that one etc...

That's something to work on, for sure. How much of that is penalty related though? I know that wasn't the case so much against Washington but, come on, it's Washington. In many other cases, though, they take too many penalties which leads to a high shot deficit.

I think Elliot will do just fine. He'll play the vast majority of the next 14 or so games until Leclaire gets back and post a real decent record, likely 8-4 or 9-3 and Brodeur or whomever will get the other two starts

I fully expect Elliott to get the back to back starts right off the bat. We're back home tomorrow to host Columbus and then in Boston on Saturday.

Flo The Action wrote:i don't think new jersey will win against us twice in a row. i was at the last devils game and the way ottawa plays now is not the way they played then. there's alot more confidence to them. guys like picard and lee play a much better game then they did. kuba is finding is grove again. fish is role. and there's no problem with secondary scoring. apart from spezza everyone is better. but i still think spezza is playing alright, just not finding the back of the net. needs quicker reaction time.

so all and all, it will be a good game.

Needs to do something to change his "luck". When true super stars or play makers struggle, they get in the dirty area's and eventually goes off your skate, but, glove, w/e. Have yet seen him do that. Shoot the puck, get dirty, two very easy things to do.

As for tomorrow night, they need to play a really patient road game, if they get the lead, shut it down and keep it simple. No need to put on a show the the road crowd.

And he is aware of this. He knows what he needs to do. Last game, he took a step back but he's a competitor and I think you'll see a very solid game from him (unless there's an injury) tonight. Prediction: 3-1 sens. PP goal from Spezz as well as an empty netter.

Lines at Sens' skate:

Michalek - Spezza - Shannon
Foligno - Regin - Alfredsson
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil
Cheechoo - Winchester - Keller

Fisher not skating.

So... to summarize... no Leclaire, no Kovalev, no Volchenkov, no Fisher, no Donovan.

Yowza.

We're gonna have to grind it out. Bring your lunch pail.

SensChirp is reporting that the Sens have recalled Ryan Keller to replace Fisher tonight.

Not sure what's up with Fisher.

I hope this doesn't hurt his chance to play for Team Canada.

According to Clouston, Fisher left Tuesday's practice early for "maintenance"...

Clouston has confirmed Fisher is out tonight. Upper body injury. Keller will replace him.

Bah.

The good news is it's upper body...no groin, no knee issues.

Bah.

If tonight's the night that Spezza wakes up, we'll feel it a little less.

Tonight has to be that night. There is no other option. Spezza must explode for 4 goals.
