Cam Ward Signs 6 year Extension with the Canes

I don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere else.

Cam Ward and the Hurricanes have agreed to a 6 year extension worth $37.8 million.

I won't lie, I thought his Conn Smythe performance was kind of a fluke, but he's turning into a spectacular goalie for them, especially in the playoffs.

That is a big contract, though.

Yeah, most discussions on other teams that aren't, say, the Leafs or the Habs don't tend to get past the first couple of pages.

Yeah, not really much to say about it, I guess. Passion runs shallow when discussing teams like the Canes.

Without Ward, Carolina is sunk and although its a lot of cap to be taken up by any goalie, Imo Ward's skill somewhat justifies it.

I don't like it from a cap perspective, but I would say he's comparable to most other 6M goalies. He's certainly done more than Luongo at this point in his career, yet nobody blinked an eye when he signed his extension
