Earthquake near Samoa sends tidal wave toward Hawaii

Either 7.9 or (some reports) 8.3 earthquake near Samoa. Tidal wave up to 10'. Apparently it's headed toward Hawaii, but that's quite a long way off. Current reports are sketchy at best.

Tsunami warning issued for New Zealand.

Reports from Samoa say water went as far as 100 yards inland.

I worked on a project for the area around the Port of Los Angeles to install and create a Tsunami Warning System to help direct travel to "Tsunami Safe Zones". Looks like we might get to see it use today. Thanks to me, people will know which way to run (as if away from the giant wave wasn't an option)
