You can always take my suggestion...do nothing.

I posted this scenario once before...

Heatley rips a shot over the should of Dipietro in the first game...crowd starts to cheer then realizes who scored and dead silence falls over the crowd.

Nothing...just silence, no boos, no jeers, just silence. No "The Heat is On" being played, nothing.

Stu announces the goal as he would a visiting teams goal, and once the puck is dropped the crowd then cheers again.

Won't happen, but would send a great big message.

I can't remember who posted it, but the bottom line was this: if Heatley scores, you cheer. Not for Dany, for the Sens. You don't have to like the guy, but if he performs for the team, and the team performs around him, cheer.

It will be interesting to see if management decides to allow him to show up for the season ticket holder party on Sunday.

I don't know if it would be a matter of allowing him. I doubt Heatley wants to be there and I'd be surprised if management wanted him there also.

For all the public grandstanding on both sides push has come to shove here in a big way. It's unlikely that Heatley will have to show up for a team function at all.

If he doesnt show up for that charity tournament it will be a disaster. It's damage control time now and Heatley has to face the music and the problems he, himself has created.

Well, if he's part of the team, they need to start acting and working like a team... who usually shows up for these events? All players or only a select few?

Heatley can't hide from awkward public situations forever.

We're not talking about the charity event. This is about the Season ticket holder event being held this Sunday where ticket holders get to be handed there tickets by a Sens player etc... If not all players are expected to be there then I expect he's one that won't be there.

I might avoid that one. The only thing he shouldnt avoid is the media. I dont think fans will care if they dont get their tickets from Heatley.

I agree. If he starts leaving out the back door and not letting the media talk to him then they'll turn all there attention towards team-mates and that will cause issues pretty quick I think.

That was what happened when Yashin came back to the Sens, as long as the player is wearing the Sens colours I will cheer for them when they play.

I think it's mostly the vets that go to these tourney's.

Oh..I think you were talking about the Season Ticket Holder event. I think pretty much any player does it.

Yeah, I was... it will be interesting to see if he shows up for that. Reports are that Heatley will indeed be at the golf tourney.
