Yahoo Hockey League - GMhockey

Hey,

Yahoo is now open to registering hockey leagues. I have my own on the go, but would like to open it up to someone here to undertake the commish role and start up a GMhockey league.

Yahoo allows for returning leagues now, and the possibility for keeper leagues.

If we do this, here are my suggestions for how it should go:

- Scoring: Points Only (very easy to play, your teams points (G's, A's, +/-, PIM, PPG/PPA, SHG/SHA, GA, SV%, etc.) all add up to your score.
- No max on anything (takes the fun out of it)
- Not too large roster (2 C, 4 F, 4 D, 2 G, 2 BN)

If we get 20 members signed up (the max) it should be good. I suggest we use our GMhockey usernames as our team names.

If someone wants to take the ball and run with it, by all means please do. I will run it if you want, but I think a MOD should do it (it is their site).

Let's do this! This is a sure fire SIM we can all enjoy and will happen!

I have heard that espn runs a superior league setup compared to Yahoo, have never used espn, but would be open to running a league on either fantasy site if anyone is interested.

I'm open to finally getting our league up and running with the team that I worked hard to build already.

I'll join either one. I've done Yahoo, but heard the same about ESPN. Would we set up a live draft?

I think live draft would be the best, but with the ability for others to pre-rank their picks if they cannot make it.

would be open to running a dual commish league with you as well if possible to promote fairness

okay that tells me my answer :^^^^:

well now, I have looked at the options of the league when it comes to scoring, do the members prefer a head to head matchup format or would you prefer the roto type scoring, where each team owner gets awarded points based on your ranking in each stat we pick? (not preferential of roto scoring as head to head matchups promote more strategy/fun)

There is room for 19 more teams after myself, I haven't set a live draft date yet as I want to find a time that works for the majority of members. Also, I have set it for 20 players as your roster, which can be still altered at this time, so am open to any suggestions for changes to roster sizes and the stats used for head to head matchups.
