It boggles the mind, but with today's fertility treatments, people are having litters of children...
Not to go on a rant here but, the world is rapidly approaching critical levels of population. There will be a time in our lifetimes when we could struggle to feed everyone. Seriously, we ought to be thinking of way to control the population, not increase it expotentially.

I guess people reckon it's better to have twins or 3-4 kids than have none at all.

I remember reading that there's a significant number (I don't remember the percentage) of couples though that are otherwise fertile, using fertility boosting methods specifically with the intent of multiple births. That's where alot of these huge births are coming from. That's the problem I see with it. It shouldn't be exploited like that imo.
I was reading about Octomom, and she had 8 embryos left after her first IV treatment, and risked losing them (I guess they have a shelf life). So instead of doing the logical thing as a single mother with 6 or so kids already and only implanting a couple she did them all, so she wouldn't lose them. I want to see that argument, but at some point common sense should prevail.

Don't get me started on Octomom. But I definetly agree with your point about already fertile parents. The fertility boosting help was made for a reason and it wasn't to increase the world population at an enormous rate. I know people are free to choose if they like multiple births but it has to come to a point where people start using their common sense a bit

Yep. This is a classic example of where science isn't doing humanity any favours. This is a wonderful technology that helps people who desperately need it. That's not easy for me to say being an atheist, and a staunch supporter of science, but I think people who can let nature take it's course, should.
If this is the kind of abuse we see of this type of technology, what will happen when scientist figure out how to code stem cells to grow into body parts using your DNA? That's effectively cloning parts of yourself. Since it's your DNA, a perfect match for type is almost guaranteed I would think. I'd hate to see a future like that movie "The Island" with Scarlett Johansson. Pretty scary really.

See the problem is this technology is made for a purpose and should be kept for that purpose. Its harsh to say that boosting fertility drugs shouldn't be given to already fertile parents but like you said sometimes people should let nature take its course
Same with cloning, that movie was too much of an exaggeration but if cloning if used properly can be a very valuable asset but knowing it will probably end up being abused I'm not sure how much of a cloning Im an advocate of
