I'm interested in the results but not the show.

I predict that Malkin wins the Art Ross and Ovechkin wins the Maurice Richard. Sarcasm

EDIT: Wouldn't it be something if for the second year in a row, the Russians cleaned up the forward awards? Malkin AR, Ovechkin MR, Malkin/Ovechkin/Datsyuk Hart and Datsyuk Selke?

Plus, you potentially have a Slovakian Norris winner.

Here's hoping Steve Mason takes both the Vezina and Calder.

Second one he should have locked down. Vezina's going to be a little harder to win, but I think he deserves it.

I agree Dash. Mason deserves it. I won't be holding my breath though.

Who are the nominees for coach of the year again? Was Bylsma too late?

EDIT: Ah, yes, there we are.

I'd probably go with Andy Murray. But Julien's a good pick too - I don't think we anticipated that the Bruins would be that good.

McLellan is a distant third for me.

I can't over look what Andy Murray did with the Blues. My vote is Murray for sure. The award still goes to Julien though.

My picks are probably Ovechkin (I think Malkin is superior, but he's not going to be more valuable as long as Crosby's there), Thomas (I'm hoping for Mason), Mason, Chara (I'm hoping Lidstrom wins it though), Julien (hoping for Murray).

Selke is the toughest for me to call. I want Datsyuk to win it, but I don't know if they'll give it to him two years in a row.

I'd like for Richards to take the Selke. As for Norris, I'm personally a little tired of seeing Lidstrom year after year win. Malkin was more of a factor in his team's success, as his Conn Smyth would show. That should be a good indicator that he deserves to win, but if he doesn't, I doubt he'll be too disappointed with a Stanley Cup and MVP as a consolation prize.

I thought Malkin should have won it last season, because he was such a big reason for the turn-around. This season, I think Ovechkin is more deserving, but it might go the other way.

Keep in mind that the Hart is a regular season trophy and Ovechkin led his team to a better regular season record. Also, if you go by pace, Ovechkin actually ends up with more points this season than malkin does.

He also had a 1.5 PPG record in the playoffs, which is identical to Malkin, but in fewer games. The difference, of course, is that Ovechkin didn't have a Crosby putting up around 1.3 PPG in the playoffs to take the pressure off, and Ovechkin also didn't have a 100 point scorer in the regular season alongside him.

Anyway, you're right. Malkin won't cry himself to sleep over losing out on the Hart. He's going to win a few in his career.

I echo that sentiment, will find something else to do this year, am working until 9 Atlantic anyway, I hate late shifts.

Remember, Bettman moved the awards to LV as a possible precursor to them getting a franchise. Rich, passionate Canadians cannot purchase bankrupt teams in poor markets and move them to Canadian cities with fanbase, but uncharted cities in non-traditional markets are okay.
