Silly Season 2009: Free Agents and Trades--Who Goes Where?

Some quality UFAs not signed yet...d-men Zubov, Beauchemin, Aucoin, Morris, Marc Andre Bergeron still out there...goalies, Biron, Fernandez...forwards, Havlat, Samuelsson, Antropov...

I am especially surprised Beauchemin has not been picked up, but maybe we've just been spoiled by the frenzied activity today...

I think Heatley will set the bar for Havlat - perhaps Edmonton's consolation prize? I heard Zubov will remain a Star - why he hasn't yet is odd. Detroit's going to have to pay up for Sammy, cause Chicago just got better.

Not much of a market for goalies - Colorado went the cheap and safe route with Anderson, Edmonton got their Khabi, and Columbus got Garon.

I think Biron and Manny are Europe bound.

Beauchemin might be pricing himself out of a job.

I'd love to get this Heatley business sorted out either way so that we can start working on making this team better...so much dead weight to move out and so many holes to fill.

Well I would say we have filled quite a few holes in the last few months.

Goaltending - check
Defence - Missing 1 top 4 Dman - Maybe somebody steps up ?
PMD - Karlson/Campoli - check - maybe a year or two to payoff
Lines 3/4 - Check (lines 5/6/7 also)
Top 6 forwards - Alfie/Spezza/Fisher??/Penner???????/Cogs???????/Heatley??????

I think we know what to address with the cap space we have.

Anybody know what Beauchemin is looking for ?

I'd never pay that guy that much. He had it good in Anaheim playing with two HOF defensemen.

We have one extra D-man, one extra forward and one extra goalie, so potentially, that's 3 million off the books when that's done. Maybe 4 million+ if we move Smith. We can make a signing for sure, but who do you move to make that signing?

half an hour on the heatley trsde left to go...i'm not sure what other nUFA fowards i'd like. my top fit for ottawa are aready gone, knuble, gionta and cammy. maybe kessel could be add in some sort of deal?

I'd love to see Ottawa sign Bertuzzi for ~$2 million. How sick would a line with him Fisher and Foligno/Penner be?

Wings hoping to land Chad LaRose. Somewhere on the wikipedia it's written that he signed with the Wings but nothing official yet lol.

P.S. Don't be surprised if Wings are after Sundin.

that fit with what ottawa needs at the right price? we need a top 3 guy...
