I think (hope?) just like Detroit last night, the Bs have a big night. They were embarassed last game. They need to make up for it (plus they don't want to go 1-3).

The difference is, they were supposed to make up for an even worse previous game. So far, when Boston plays well it makes for a close game that can go to either team. Nothing more.

One of the comments made by the analysts on the RDS broadcast team was that Tim Thomas did not look like the goalie who had led the Bruins to the East title.

Sounds very much like what the Canes did to Marty Brodeur.

A reasonable observation would be that Carolina's constant pressure, including their ability to outshoot the Bruins, and to exploit one of Zdeno Chara's reported weaknesses--defending against smaller, faster forwards--might be at the root of that.

From a tactical perspective, Paul Maurice and Ron Francis appear to have studied the Bruins very, very carefully. If you watch the positional game the Hurricanes are playing, it's difficult not to be impressed.

The absence of Andrew Ference with an unspecified injury has to hurt Boston tonight.

wheeler does come back in which does help the bruins up front may give them a little extra firepower that they need

Just flipping back and forth to this one, but every time it looks like Boston is being suffocated, outskated and outplayed by Carolina.
