504H, Cory mentioned Hitch in one of his very first interviews, as being a coach after whom he models himself.

There are interesting similarities. An inscrutable demeanor. Giving the players credit, but being very measured. Always looking for improvements. And very strategic.

Hitch once said he could transform Spezza into a complete player. Perhaps Clouston has set that as one of his personal challenges.

Lee, for all the heat he's taken recently from some of our posters, had a strong game tonight as well.

Lee played great tonight, no doubt about that.

Huh. I must have missed that, that's very encouraging.

Also, there were a few times when I could have sworn it was Peter Schaefer and not Nick Foligno out there on the ice. Although not when he shot the puck.

Foligno is like Schaefer with leadership.

What's Schaefer up to nowadays, anyway?

Lee was excellent, more physical, the whole 9. Bell suffered a bit tonight, but at this stage, the kid's earned a mulligan.

There are some times when Foligno doesn't have the puck, where he's definitely floating. Do you notice that? Not more than once in the game, but it seems to be every game that we play that he's out there for one significant shift, where he's waiting at the center ice line, hoping for a pass or a bounce.

Other than that, he's surging and finding his NHL game, it's fantastic.

As for Schaefer...were you kidding? :D I assume you said that tongue in cheek, because last I heard he was playing for the Providence Bruins or whatever they're called.

I find their playing styles somewhat similar, and the fact that every goal they score seems to be a nice one. Obviously, though, I prefer Foligno to Schaefer.

Frankly, though, all this winning seems to be making our situation more confusing.

How, for example, would the players react to Murray being a seller? If Columbus phoned up and said "that loss to Dallas really stung, we're prepared to offer you Filatov and our first round pick for Kuba," and Murray accepts (he should be fired otherwise), how do you think the players respond?

I will say this, though. I'm not sure I've been as confident in our goaltending since 2005-2006.

Kuba and Neil are in a situation where they know they're probably moving - and the team know it too, but it's an interesting question.

Isn't the concern that the rest of the team might feel slighted?

Solid effort top to bottom. Even Pierre was singing the Sens praises last night.

I will say despite my harsh words and critiques of Lee of late, he definitely had a much better outting last night. Good for the kid.

As for Bell, I'm not surprised Clouston benched him late in the 3rd and I wouldn't be surprised to see Pickard in tonight and Bell out, but I'm merely speculating, but the Sun had a report on Bell possibly sitting the Colorado tilt out.

Well, Picard has to show what he can do sooner or later. I'm starting to think Bell needs to sit games out from time to time.
