Again, unless there's a star player coming back no.

You'd probably have to add "Cows" Cowen.

Of course it would be an upgrade coming back.

personally with the way Michalek is playing, I don't know where to put hOffman once MacArthur comes back.

Hoffman could have easily scored 2 last night. He was at the right spot but it didn't go in. That's fine; happens to everyone.

Except he's been slumping for a while now. 0 pts in his last 6 games, and only 3 points in March (10 games played).

Like I said before there's guys that you could try to bench or whatever and they wouldn't care enough to try and step it up afterwards. Hoffman isn't that guy and I fully expect a 6-goal outburst vs. the hated Leaves.

A reasonable expectation.

Then all would be excused ... Smile

But seriously, when you have a deep team, it allows you to have hot and cold players and keep winning. If everyone is cold at the same time it's trouble and if everyone is hot at the same time it tends not to last. Turris was cold earlier, Michalek was cold for a long time ... I'm not worried about The Hoff. If he wasn't putting in the effort or if he couldn't find the right spot (on the ice), it'd be a different thought process but that's not the case. It's all good !!!

I just think we can capitalize off the hype of his unsustainable goal total. We want a 200 foot hockey team and I don't think he fits with that personally

I can respect that. I think you can let him go in a package. I would disagree if you said that about Stone but yeah, I agree with what you're saying. I'd still rather have him than Neil (and probably MacArthur at this point in time).

He's RFA.  Need to sign him to get any trade value.

You can trade him before you sign him.

tim1_2 wrote:Yeah, no need to sign him to trade him...that said, I imagine we'll sign him to something reasonable and then hope he continues to improve.

Didn't say you couldn't, just said his trade value would go up if he was signed. Doesn't cost much to sign a player, especially if you plan on moving him.

But at this point I wouldn't move him. Lazar may be in the AHL next season and imagine how much damage he could do on that line.

Not with RFAs.

If it's in a package for a better player than 100%, he's absolutely the guy who you should sell high on. A season like this will be one of his better ones now that teams will pay attention to him. Putting Puempel in that spot is the better option anyways IMO as he has shown he's ready for the NHL.

If you can make a move with Cowen/Hoffman/goalie... that can bring back a very, very nice player to complete the team up front. Trading a 2nd/3rd line winger, #5, 6 D man, and potential #1 goalie, hard to beat that value and the money going out alone would be worth it.

Reimer will start for the Leafs tomorrow.

I'm not even sure you believe the Cowen stuff anymore. Pretty clear he's #7 on the Sens... maybe 8 or 9 if it wasn't for contract status.

I think Cowen would be fine if he didn't try to play like a $3-4M defenseman. Stay back, hold the blue line (both ends), don't try to be fancy. Hit hard when the opportunity presents itself.

I don't think it's clear who is or who isn't our #7 d-man
