Missed most of it but catched a lot of the 3rd which was Cussing solid. Forecheck was intense.

OK, so I was out with my son tonight -- first he had his tutoring from 7-8 then a game at 9:30. Missed the whole game (except for radio). Just watched on the PVR. Solid outing. Anderson stunk in the 1st. Don't give me this "can't blame Anderson" crap. 3 goals on six freaking shots! Can't do that. Then he stopped, what, 17 in the second? Avs are a tired team playing the third game in 4 nights. And with their #1 and backup out. Still, Pickard made some real nice saves.

How did Stone not get one of the stars of the game?

It's so stupid to just look at the stats and say he stunk. Let's recap the 3 Colorado goals.

First goal: Bobby turns it over at our blue line, defense allows a shot from the slot which goes top corner.

Second goal: Shorthanded breakaway. Shot goes off the post, bounces off the back of Anderson's leg and in.

Third goal: Shot from the slot again, deflected by Sens defender into the top corner.

Anderson had no chance on any of those goals, so STFU with this "he can't allow early goals" crap.

Anderson was not sharp in the first, the Sens won't be able to come back like that every night. Like Ev said he is better when he faces a lot of shots, he needs to be prepared when he doesn't face a ton. It's a fair critique.

Saying he "wasn't sharp" in the first because he gave up three goals is stupid. You always have to look at the quality of the chances against. I summed them up for your neatly in my previous post, and I suggest you revisit them.

I'm sure your analysis would have been praised had the goaler of record been Robert "Golden Boy" Lerner.

Remember that stop that Pickard made on Ryan? You certainly couldn't blame that on the kid if it goes in, but those are the kinds of stops you need to make once in a while.

The Ryan turn over wasn't that horrible, it took another 4-5 seconds and 5 passes before the shot, yet Anderson appeared unprepared. He wasn't out at the top of the crease square to the shooter -- it's not like he could have expected McKinnon to score from where he was, so if he was going to cheat, it should have been toward the slot where the shooter was. Yes, it was a nice shot and it went top corner, but if Anderson comes out a foot and over to his left a foot that shot hits him.

Any shot that goes off the post and then off the goalie and in the goalie wants to have back. You hate those because you feel -- rightly so -- that you should have stopped it. After all, you had *TWO* opportunities to stop it and missed both times.

As for the third goal, yes, a deflection, but the puck wasn't exactly a bullet after it hit Phillips -- more like a flutterball. Sure, you can say you can't blame him for it but, again, your #1 has to make those impossible saves every once in a while. And 3 for 6 is not good.

Anderson just looked off in the first. You can tell if you watch every game, he just didn't look comfortable. He improved in the 2nd and especially the 3rd, so no complaints.

I feel like we would have lost that game last year.

If he stops the first one maybe they can try that (let him see lots of rubber).

The Sens had a lot of help in the 1st with all those powerplays. When's the last time they allowed 6 shots on goal in a period? They were overwhelmed a bit in the second and Anderson was great. But in the third the Avs were fatigued and the Sens pulled away. He didn't have that much work (under 10 shots).

Just not on the first shot of the game Smile

It's like the Sens need to allow some shots early on from far away.

Anderson shut it down after the first.

I always, always doubt the ability of under 20-year-olds to stick in the NHL. Probably because in most cases, they don't. But Lazar has looked better every game in the NHL so far. Don't see that very often.

The first shot thing was distressing, but I don't blame Andy for the 2nd and especially not for the 3rd goal.
