Murray's original plan was to resign Alfie and sign Clarkson.  He had to sign both within the budget.

He traded for Ryan after Alfie was leaving, the money going to him went to Ryan.  Obviously Murray had to pull off something to try and counteract Alfie leaving.  He also got MacArthur.

However, thinking about the "probably not" comments, him taking the puck at the end of the playoffs etc.
I think we need to accept he just wants a cup and doesn't believe in this team.

We offered 20 to 25% less than that, assuming he would take another home team discount.
