Mendes says Michalek didn't look good on the ice at all. Doesn't seem he is ready to return anytime soon. He did wear a contact jersey though.

Yeah... that sounds on the level. Andy/Bishop over the weekend?

This is what Mendes said: "By all accounts, Milan Michalek didn't have the best day on the ice. He won't play tonight and is uncertain about Saturday in PHI."

So I don't know where you get your information, Hoags, but you're going all TMZ on the facts.

Mendes: MacLean on why he's starting Lehner tonight: "Our depth is no good if we don't use it."

MacLean is always full of surprises and good ones at that. Players are always on their toes and so is the media. He has the respect of absolutely everyone. I would have bet millions on Bishop going tonight but w/e, lol.

To be fair, I think we all assumed Bishop would start based on his recent performance, but we all ignored the fact that Lehner will be returned to the AHL soon, and they want to give him a game before he goes.

He was up with the team at the start of the year and they didn't give him a game before sending him down.

What's your point?

his point was they wouldn't start him against the best team in the East just to give him a game...

That giving Lehner games in the NHL didn't seem to be a priority before. They carried 3 goalies for a while at the start of the year and didn't play him before sending him back.

Now MacLean says our depth is useless if we don't use it. Maybe he's acting on one of his hunches. Definately a vote of confidence for #40.

I don't think that's his point at all.

Anyone who knows anything about how the Murrays and MacStache work, know that hard work and results are rewarded. Lehner has been great in the AHL. The plan was to get him some NHL work at some point this season if he was a good soldier in Bingo, and that's been the case.

They were carrying three goalies for the first two games of the year, and in both of those games, Matrix was phenomenal. Lehner was the only goalie who could be sent down without waivers. That's why he didn't get a game when he was with us at the start of the season. This could very well be the last time he's with the big club this season, so they almost have to give him this game as a reward.

It's pretty much impossible to dispute what I've written about this, so don't even try.

Or maybe it's because last time he faced the Bruins he had a 1-0 shutout. Bond

Sure, that probably played a little into the decision too, but if Lehner had been pooping the bed in the AHL recently, there is a zero percent chance he gets this game tonight.
