Canada's Junior Roster invitees announced

The list is out.... Hockey Canada announced its selection camp roster on Monday for the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Cowen is on there as expected. Hall and Seguin are eligible but were not invited as they would most likely not be released by their clubs.

how is hall eligible? i thought when he skipped the tryout back in the summer, that he lost his shot.

Hall deemed not eligible. Looks like TSN had it wrong.

Did Seguin go to the summer tryout? There's a guy who would benefit as well IMO.

And yes, Hall skipped the tryout and is not eligible (stupid decision by all involved).

Buffalo isn't that far, hopefully I don't have to drive down and insert my foot in the coaching staff's arses if Cowen is benched the whole time again.

yeah Cowen better play way more. ultimately he's gotta impress everyone with his defensive plays. I really really hope he can win gold....then we'll have our own Scott Neidermeyer in the making

odd because their styles are different. But I meant more in terms of the winning at all levels dealio.

Cowen has already got memorial cup....with world jr. gold medal, he's pretty much accomplished everything there is to accompish in the juniors.

Does anyone think Marcus FOligno talks exactly like Nick? I mean they don't have the same voice at all but the way they talk is so similar.

That article states that Ellis is allowed to skip the tryout camp due to being a two time member of the team. Apparently, there is a loophole to the eligibility issue.

List of scratches for tonights game vs. CIS All-Stars. Most of the names mentioned, i.e. Ellis and Cowen, are scratched because they are locks to make the team, as per Dave Cameron.
