He just left the game. Is this guy ever going to stay healthy?

It's not really fair. He obviously is just as frustrated as you are, it's not like he is trying to get injured. He obviously works too hard. Yes, it is unfortunate.

Pre-cautionary. It's a nothing game, why push it?

Is that what they said? I had a stupid fire drill so missed most of the first.

If we had to trade someone(or up to me), Fisher should be the one to go. He always seems to be injured or on a scoreless streak.

Yeah, they were talking about how careful the Sens want to be with back-to-back games on the weekend. But he tweaked it 'a little' was the quote I think.

I agree and suggested it sometime ago on that other board and got roasted for it. As much as he can be a valuable player to us he could also fetch us that PMD, another top 6 or elite goalie. The only thing is that we would have to wait and have him go 15+ games to show he is healed before moving him. Only problem we are stuck with a NMC on him.

Talking to a guy who would know, and he thinks Fisher should start training with someone qualified to train hockey players. Sure, he's Lean and Fit, but in the new NHL that's just not enough. A handful of almonds may improve your "performance" but it's not going your groin.

You mean a former football player who pushes unproven nutriceuticals isn't the best trainer for an elite athlete?

Is that even a word?

Groins are always a problem this time of year. I will tell you though Fisher's health scares me as does Alfie's. I am thinking that I might gamble on the contract thing and see if he plays 70. Ouch I feel the eggs hitting my virtual house and the toilet paper wrapping my virtual car... I am just saying if he doesn't play 70 games we get a top 5 player for $3.8M for two more years!!!

I love Alfie more than most, if you divorce yourself from the emotional side of it, the cap hit of another $7M contract would kill us next year (if that is what his agent is looking for) and we could avoid all that. If he plays 70 games this year have the contract waiting but if not don't spend the money. Give him his money eventually with a cushy front office job for big $$$ but this cap hit would keep us from getting a better #1 goalie next year.

Believe it or not, some marketing "genius" actually came up with it, so now it actually is considered a real word, at least in the medical lexicon. Only difference is that doctors don't tend to use it as a term of respect, as I'm sure you guessed.

You're a lawyer (as I recall) - don't you also have a bunch of terms like that that have been hijacked?

Ideally, I'd have the contract rewritten with new options, to run through for four or five more years, but I don't think options are allowed any more. Maybe the answer is something like Ovechkin's - a series of one or two year contracts, which are predicated on him passing a physical (or some other easily attainable marker). If he retires, he simply doesn't show, thus the contract is voided. The way I see it, it's like a player option, without writing it that way. The only thing is that he'd have to agree that he'd voluntarily step down if he wasn't helping the team (as if...), thus protecting the team. A verbal contract, or even a written one, could allow him to step right into management on retirement, with a bonus based on age. He could then take a hometown discount on the players contract, knowing he'll make it up on the management signing bonus.

Fisher and his groin... sigh... this is bringing back memories of a discussion I had with an HBuzz'er a while back that was confidant Fisher would get 30 goals this year and stay healthy. If only...
