Hey guys,

I've noticed a trend in our stats that I'm wondering about and would like your thoughts on.

The page loads are down on the weekend as I would expect but the puzzling part for me is that first time visits on the weekend are close to double that of a weekday. Thoughts?

Page loads average about 1800 during the week and about 800 on the weekend.

First time visits average about 200 during the week and about 400 on the weekend.

Regulars read everything but are away, visiting other sites, on weekends.

Visitors from other sites visit mainly on weekend, but they don't stay long, since they are also visiting other sites.

Or the recent PM spam has something to do with it. How does the site keep track of first-timers versus regulars? I'm guessing by IP. Spammers might be cycling their IPs frequently, but since they are only going to the PM page the page loads would be low per "new" visitor.

Or it could be something else entirely.

It shows that people who are addicted to this site are on here at work. When they get home, unless there's something happening, they stay away for a bit. On weekends, there are more things to do: family, relaxing, getaways, dinners, going out etc. etc. etc.

I might come on 1/4 of the time I'm on on weekends, then move from here and respond to three or four things on HF. My signature on HF is GMHockey.com, so I'm positive people see that and come over.

Weekends are porn time.

Just kidding. I personally have a second job on weekends, before that it would have been for minor hockey commitments, etc.

9 to 5 is prime GMHockey time for me!

is there a rule against porn on weekdays then?
